COMPARISON: 5 Champagne Eyeshadows

One of my new obsessions is champagne eyeshadows. I think they make perfect all-over lid colors. Today i want to show you the 5 champagne shadows that I own. Some, as you can see, are almost direct dupes to others. *Photos are mine.
Swatches, L to R:
Urban Decay - Sin
Wet N Wild Walking On Eggshells - Eyelid shade
MAC - All That Glitters
Wet N Wild Comfort Zone - Eyelid Shade (left column)
CoverGirl - Mink
The first two are super similar, as well as shades 3-4. In my opinion CoverGirl Mink doesn't really make a dupe for any of these although it has been a supposed MAC All That Glitters dupe. Now that I own both i dont think it is exactly.
So what do you ladies think? Do you love or hate champagne shadows??? Some of them tend to be super reflective and/or metallic and others can be very soft and feminine.

DUPES for MAC Satin Taupe vs. CoverGirl Tapestry Taupe

Wet N Wild Nutty Eyeshadow $1.99

I purchased this CoverGirl single eyeshadow in Tapestry Taupe at CVS (reg. $4.99) for $2.49 with a coupon after hearing it was a close dupe to MAC Satin Taupe. And i have had the Wet N Wild Nutty eyeshadow for a while. Well, i couldnt really tell if they were dupes until i had all 3 so i decided to go ahead an purchase the CG shadow - it cant hurt to have an extra of one of your favorite shades!! BTW i totally forgot to photograph the MAC eyeshadow, lol, sorry! I was more focused on the swatches. *Photos are mine.
Photos
1. CoverGirl Tapestry Taupe single eyeshadow
2. CG Tapestry Taupe swatch on my arm - no flash
3. Wet N Wild Nutty eyeshadow single - also a dupe
They're really similar!!! Dont you think? As far as formula and finish go they are nearly identical, although MAC Satin Taupe is a tad more silky feeling, and CG Tapestry Taupe is a tad more light reflective. Otherwise theyre almost exactly the same... and technically IRL i could barely tell a difference at all.
This review started out as a review onlyon CG Tapestry Taupe but i then decided to do a dupe post instead. I'll do an EOTD with this soon! Thanks for reading, commenting, and liking! Please follow :)

MAC Eyeshadow in Swimming

Yep, its yet another awesome product that I wont in Trina J's makeup giveaway for Easter. Please check out her blog and follow!!

This MAC eyeshadow in Swimming is a beautiful mermaid-green shade with a golden sheen, in my opinion. Its smooth, pigmented, and has just the right amount of shimmer with a beautiful lustre finish - which is my favorite! Obviously, MAC is the highest wuality of makeup and this eyeshadow is no exception. It definitely makes me want to invest in other MAC shadows now.

I havent used this yet in an EOTD but i have swatched it, obviously, and have used it as a top lashline eyeliner shade and i LOVE it! The shade Swimming may not be for everyone and i think it would best suit people with hazel and/or brown eyes only.

What's your favorite MAC shadow?

MAC Lipglass in Lychee Luxe

Hey ladies! Here is another item from the giveway i won on Trina J's blog. This is MAC Lipglass in Lychee Luxe, and its my first gloss from MAC!

Lychee Luxe is a beautiful bright pink-coral gloss with warm golden shimmer. It's a little intimidating in the tube because it's so bright, but its actually very pretty when swatched. I have worn it on my lips but i forgot to take photos, sorry :\ Anyway here are the pro's and con's.

[PROS]
- Not very sticky
- Pretty coral shimmer shade
- Pigmented
- Doesn't apply streaky
- Great summer shade
- Good quality for the price, $14.50

[CONS]
- I can't think of any!

As always, with these giveaway items i think my cons will be the price, but this one is only $14.50 which isnt that bad. They are high-end cosmetics which i sometimes dont like to fork out the money for just because im a wife & stay-at-home Mom so buying MAC on a regular basis really isnt in our budget, lol, and drugstore items do just fine. However, im super grateful for winning this giveaway and it has given me the chance to try more MAC, NARS, and Stila items!

What's your favorite MAC Lipglass shade?

EOTD: MAC Blue Brown and L'Oreal Intrepid

On the left eye is MAC Blue Brown and the right eye is L'Oreal Intrepid. They look the same, dont they??? I did use a couple other shades so here's the full look.

STEPS:
1. Shade Too Faced 'Cocoa Puff' into outer corners and lined along bottom lashes. (or a similar chocolatey brown shade)

2. Press or gently sweep Blue Brown or Intrepid pigment into inner corners and blend outward.

3. Blend Urban Decay 'Sin' as highlight on brow bone and inner corners. (or a similar light pink shimmer)

4. Apply a black liner to top & bottom lashlines, finish with black mascara.

Admittedly, this look was hard to blend together, so i used a loose eyeshadow brush at the end to try and soften edges. I also used Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer as a base/primer before applying to the pigments didn't stain my eyelids (hey, it happens!). This is a very dark, smokey EOTD which is obviously better for night use. However, these pigments can also create a soft look too when applied properly. Use dry for a softer effect, wet for a more pigmented/darker effect.

DUPE: MAC Blue Brown vs. L'Oreal Intrepid

I have owned MAC Blue Brown for a few years now and I absolutely love it. I bought some MAC pigmented samples on eBay and have been searching for a Blue Brown dupe forever!! I finally found one in L'Oreal HIP Pigment in Intrepid. Just look at that swatch! They're nearly identicle and soooo much cheaper!

I payed $10.95 for Intrepid, and a full size MAC Blue Brown goes for $19.50.

MAC Pigment Samples

I bought these 6 MAC pigment samples a couple years ago off of ebay.com. I believe i payed around $6-$8 for all six pigments, they are about 7G each. They are soooo amazing! I am nearly out of Blue Brown (its my favorite!!) but all of the pigments are very good quality, easy to apply, and with the right eye primer they lasts forever!

I am seriously considering buying a full-size Blue Brown in the near future, its just one of the most beautiful shades i've ever seen. Overall, in my opinion, i got a good deal on these samples. Pigments last such a long time because you barely need any at all for full coverage, so a regular sized bottle of these would last me years, literally. If you have ever wondered about the quality of these MAC pigments, dont doubt them! Theyre amazing.
