I pulled these photos from the depths of my tumblr (threelilbears). It was the first eyeshadow base I had ever purchased ($7 on amazon.com). This particular shade is Skin Tone but it does come in other shades!
As far as application goes, NYX Eyeshadow Base is very smooth and creamy, but it dries surprisingly fast once applied to lids. It acts as a nice base color, but not so great as a primer. If I dont use a primer underneath of this, it will begin to crease. Overall, it's a nice product for $7 and will last me a very long time, even though the pot is pretty tiny. If you're looking for your first eye base and you have oily or discolored lids, check these out!
This does look really creamy and smooth from your swatch :) But hearing that it doesn't make a good primer makes me not want to get it since I don't have a lot of discoloration on my lids. It would be awesome if it was a skin tone primer :D

It does works as a nice base color, it covers skin discoloration and stuff but it doesnt prime or keep eyeshadows on well.
